It has been a few weeks since we returned from our South Africa break and you best believe I have been scouring the internet for independent wine shops that carry the pinotage wine! Yes I am extra like that, besides I like what I like. How are we doing? We still loving summer and ting? Cant believe it is July already! I mean where is the time going like?

We are back to exploring the culinary delights of our beloved London and today we are in Pollen Street Social. Now this is a restaurant run by Jason Atherton. We are here because of Tom Sellers, owner of Restaurant Story, my man is a G with food, so you know we had to come see what a gwan! Social Sunday which is an initiative by Jason Atherton and is essentially a charity event where Jason rounds up his peers from the industry and they come up with a menu of their signature dishes for their chosen charity. I mean for this foodie, it was too much. I mean it was like a BOGOF of culinary delight

We had a 10-course taster menu with dishes from Jason, Tom and Tim and OMG! it was just freaking awesome.

Take the amuse bouche, it was fish and chips, storeo and flax seed crisp, pickled shitake and shitake ketchup. It was served in what I can only describe as a tiered stand. I dont need to tell you that these canape type courses were scrumptious.

The caviar salt baked beets, butter milk bavarious and potato blinis was just out of this world. Firstly, there was a generous amount of caviar!!! Siting on the top of butter milk bavarious with the potato blinis looking like delectable pancakes – it was a pretty looking dish.

Every dish was presented beautifully – the crab, turbot, rabbit, lamb. To be honest, I was not expecting less, these guys all run Michelin star restaurants and they came with their ‘A’ game. I also liked how we got to taste dishes from each of them as well. You know what this means right? More food adventures! We are going to be visiting Tom’s place and coming back to Pollen street social to experience a full menu.

The pudding choices? J E S U S! these guys threw it down!  We stared with wild strawberries with yuzu and yogurt mousse, matcha tea sponge. OMD! It looked like a babybel cheese thingy magig but tasted like the pimped-up version of strawberry yogurty goodness! I mean you bite into it and it is an explosion of yogurt goodness! Lawwwddd! The Paddington bear which was spiced pain d’epices apricot jam and shaved foie was just gorgeous. And of course, we still had mignardises aka petit fours. The Riesling wine was a great accompaniment, all the wines were fantastic.

Not only was this a culinary delight and this foodies dream come true, it was the best meal all for a good cause. Plus, Neal got an autographed copy of Jason Atherton’s book called Social Suppers It has been a day of wining!
